Rudd Farm Early Spring Update – 3/31/21

Dear farm customers,

We are excited to let you know that we picked the first handful of red berries this week! The plants are now loaded with green berries and blooms. We are thinking we’ll have enough ripe berries to open around the third week of April. We are taking covers on and off some this week to make sure the berries are protected during the colder nights.

The first red berries of 2021!

Our greenhouse tomatoes (purple and red varieties) are growing like crazy, and will be available when we open for the season. We have also replenished our supply of Rudd Farm strawberry jelly, preserves, and cookbooks, which will all be available when the drive-thru opens. We hope to have local honey within the first few weeks of opening. Our early spring veggies (cabbage, kale, collards, cauliflower, broccoli, lettuce, beets, onions, English cucumbers) will be ready in early to mid May.

We will of course keep you posted about our opening date for our 21st year of strawberries!

Until then,
Your family’s farmers,

Kenneth, Ken, and Matt
